The briefly expert report (= Oldtimer Kurzgutachten) for oldtimers includes the inspection, functional test and test drive of a used car or motorcycle that is at least 25 years old for insurance classification with determination of the market and replacement value. The valuation of the vehicle is carried out directly by the owner or seller of the vehicle on site by our professional and TÜV-certified classic car experts.

In addition, the briefly expert appraisal includes a database-supported market observation for the insurance rating of the classic car. By considering all detected defects and damages, a condition grade is determined for the overall condition of the vehicle. As a result, you will receive a short condition report with informative pictures of the vehicle online in the customer account.

• Engine compartment, engine and drivetrain
• Chassis
• Interior, trunk
• Overall condition

In addition, factors influencing the value of the oldtimer are assessed, such as conversions or the timeliness of the main inspection.

Please notice: A test drive is only possible if the vehicle has a permission and the necessary technical requirements!

High-quality oldtimers usually require specialized knowledge. Therefore, our appraisers need more time to research databases and determine the value of the vehicle when preparing the appraisal compared to standard car appraisals. The appraisers are specifically focused on your classic car brand and usually need three days for the thorough inspection and valuation of your classic car.

Please note that an execution of the short appraisal is only available in German and is unfortunately not possible in the presence of the customer.

A Car Purchasing Support serves to advise on the purchase of a vehicle, whereby a manual condition assessment of the vehicle with sämtliche function tests is carried out. This service does not involve the preparation of an expert report as a PDF document; the evaluation of the vehicle as part of a check and the consultation of the customer with regard to the appropriateness of the purchase price are carried out on site. Please note that the expert cannot personally participate in the price negotiation. However, he can give you valuable advice that will help you in the negotiation.

A used car testifying (check) is used to manually assess the condition of a vehicle.
It includes informative pictures and a checklist of the most important vehicle features and components.
The number of features assessed varies depending on the type of vehicle.

The standardized used Car Check of diepruefer.de is quite comparable with the vehicle inspection,
contains however clearly more functional tests and differs from TÜV and HU by not testing and
logging of safety-relevant characteristics such as testing the brakes or the determination of emission values during the combustion. 

You will receive a detailed condition report with the detected defects as a protocol in PDF format as well as a photo gallery, that will be posted online in your customer account, so you can make a safe purchase decision from your home. The traffic light colors in the report, represent the following functional states:   Red:        severe defect ( impairment of operating and driving safety) Yellow:    slight defect ( impairment of the value and appearance) Green:     In Order (signs of use according to age and mileage)

The full length report includes the assessment of the vehicle condition and the determination of the market and replacement value for your insurance by one of our classic car experts including a database-supported market observation. By considering all detected defects and damages, a condition grade is determined for each individual characteristic. As a result, you will receive a detailed condition report with informative pictures of the vehicle online in the customer account.

The following inspection features are assessed by the expert with regard to originality, wear and tear:

• technology

We will try to contact the seller a maximum of three times by phone and one time by e-mail. In case the seller is not reachable and we consequently cannot obtain any information, you will receive a re-credit in the amount of 20,00 €.

The First Class Check includes all the inspection points of the normal check and also offers a list of equipment features such as a VIN query and a determination of the market value and possible reduced values. In contrast to the check, first class checks include a statement on the vehicle's value. A VIN query is only possible if the manufacturer offers it for the respective vehicle.

1. The correct type a vehicle
You have found your dream car on different used car portals. This means that the vehicle type you need to select via our category list has already been determined. Here you will find the individual characteristics that are decisive for proper classification:

Car: All vehicles under 26 years old and with a total permissible weight of max. 3.5 t.

Oldtimer: All vehicles over 26 years old and with a total permissible weight of max. 3.5 t.

Bikes :Two- and three-wheeled vehicles younger than 26 years old. Older vehicles must always be registered as oldtimers.

Caravan: All vehicles with RV inventory and less than 26 years old.

Trucks: All vehicles under 26 years old which exceed the maximum permissible weight of 3.5 t.

Note: If it turns out after placing the order that the vehicle to be inspected belongs to a different vehicle category, this will involve a rebooking or withdrawal of the order, which may result in longer processing time and fees. Therefore, make absolutely sure that you select the correct vehicle category before placing the order.

The selection of the service depends on your request for specific information and your position in the decision-making process.

Case 1: You are only interested in the condition of the vehicle?
In this case, the check is the right service. It includes a condition appraisal of the most important vehicle features and components, as well as photographic documentation of the vehicle and its defects. The number of assessed features varies depending on the type of vehicle.

Case 2: In addition to the condition appraisal, are you also interested in the vehicle's value?
In this case, the first class check would be the right choice. In addition to the condition appraisal. The automotive expert will also present recognizable factors influencing the value of the vehicle.

The services "Check" and "First class check" will be carried out by a local automotive expert without your presence. The appointment is arranged directly between the expert and the provider or vehicle owner. The appraisal with photos is then made available to you via your customer account.

Case 3: You are determined to buy the vehicle, but want professional support?
In this case, you order purchasing support. You meet with the automotive expert at the location of the vehicle of your choice. The expert checks the condition of the vehicle in your presence and informs you about the overall condition, existing defects and the need of repair of the used car. You will also receive a report about the vehicle's value, which can be an important argument in a purchase negotiation.
